Day Off

A Comprehensive Guide to Understanding and Using the ‘Day Off’ in iStoria

Updated over 2 months ago

What is a Day Off in the iStoria App?

A Day Off is a day you can pre-select in the iStoria app to take a break from reading stories or doing daily exercises without affecting your streak.

How can I set a Day Off?

You can choose a fixed or flexible day based on your personal schedule. Here are the steps:

  1. Open the iStoria app.

  2. Go to the My Profile page.

  3. In the Daily Goal section, tap Edit Your Daily Goal.

  4. Set the number of chapters and exercises you want to complete.

  5. Tap the Day Off option and select the day you want to assign as your Day Off.

What happens if I choose a Day Off?

  • You won’t lose your streak: If the Day Off is set in advance, your streak remains intact. This day will appear in gray on your streak calendar.

  • Your activity counts but doesn’t add to the streak: If you complete activities on a Day Off, they will be recorded, but your streak won’t increase.

  • Streak breaks if not scheduled: If you don’t schedule a Day Off and skip activity for a day, your streak will be broken.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is a Day Off important?

  • It helps you avoid burnout and maintain a balance between activity and rest.

  • It gives you a chance to continue without losing motivation or breaking your streak.

Will I lose my streak if I use a Day Off?
No, as long as it’s scheduled in advance, your streak count stays the same and resumes normally the next day.

Can I choose more than one Day Off per week?
Yes, as long as they are scheduled in advance, and they won’t affect your streak.

What’s the difference between a Day Off and a day I don’t use the app?
A scheduled Day Off doesn’t affect your streak, but if you don’t schedule a Day Off and skip a day, your streak will be lost.

Tip:
If you don’t want to take a full Day Off, you can reduce your activity on that day—for example, by doing just one Practice test—to stay engaged without affecting your streak.
