Having trouble hearing the story or the assistant's voice? If you are facing any audio problems while using iStoria, follow these simple troubleshooting steps to get everything working perfectly again!
1. The Story Audio Isn't Playing 📖
If you cannot play the story audio, try the following solutions based on what you are experiencing:
Audio is stuck on "Loading": Playing the story requires a stable internet connection to download the audio file. If the audio is stuck loading, it is usually due to a weak or dropped internet connection.
No response when tapping the "Listen" button:
Update the iStoria app to the latest version from your app store.
Ensure your device has enough free storage space.
Close other background apps to free up device memory.
Disconnect and reconnect your internet/Wi-Fi.
The "Listen" button is active, but there is no sound:
Make sure your device is not on Silent Mode or Do Not Disturb.
Check your device's volume settings and ensure the Media Volume is turned up.
2. The Assistant Isn't Pronouncing Words 🤖
If you tap a word but the assistant doesn't pronounce it, follow these steps:
Check Assistant Settings: Review your voice settings (you can learn how in our Assistant Settings article) and ensure a voice is selected.
Human Voice vs. Robotic Voice: The "Human Voice" requires a strong internet connection to work properly. Try switching to the "Robotic Voice" temporarily to see if it fixes the issue.
If the Robotic Voice doesn't work: * Download or update the Speech Recognition & Synthesis (or Text-to-Speech) app on your device (especially for Android users).
Log out of the iStoria app and log back in.
Try using the feature again.
3. Issues with the "Read with Assistant" Feature 🗣️
This premium feature allows learners to listen to chapter sentences sequentially to practice correct pronunciation.
If the audio doesn't start: Please ensure your internet connection is stable and give it a few moments. The app requires a little time to download the complete audio file for the chapter.
